Zeneta&Zaire-16

Zeneta B. Everhart is a Buffalo, New York native born and raised on the East Side of Buffalo. Where she still lives raising her son Zaire. She holds an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts – Humanities from Villa Maria College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Canisius College with a concentration in TV Production and Interpersonal Communication. After college she fulfilled her childhood dream working in television and accepted a position with Spectrum News Buffalo, working as a breaking news Photographer and a Producer. Six years later she made a career leap from News to Politics, accepting a position with New York State Senator Tim Kennedy where she serves as Director of Diversity & Inclusion. Over the past three years she has helped to bring resources directly into the community she was born and raised in. She has helped develop legislation, create programming, secure funding, assist in employment efforts, shape organizations by joining the board of several organizations, as well created the Single Moms Club of Buffalo. The Single Moms Club is a space where we bring vital resources into one space for single mothers helping to bridge the gap while also providing a space for social engagement, sisterhood, and trust while making it a networking fun event as well. This community initiative offers single mothers the opportunity to take a night off to focus on their personal growth, while also providing their children with entertaining and engaging projects in a separate space. The initiative was especially important to Zeneta as she too is a single mother and knows first hand how hard it is to find the resources necessary to navigate the world as a single parent.
